Periyapullumalai is a border village outside Batticaloa dealing with land encroachment, human-elephant conflict, poverty, poor transport and water access, and thin education provision.
Weekend sessions carried on in the village through June, covering English, goal-setting, physical recreation and the basics of maker education, and the village appears in the log for years afterwards.
