Learn to Discern is IREX’s media-literacy curriculum. Between April and May 2023 it ran here as a series of eight photographed workshops across six districts: Hatton on 5 April; Batticaloa on 11 and 30 April and 24 May; Ampara on 29 April; Nuwara Eliya on 21 May; Mullaitivu on 27 May; Trincomalee on 28 May.
It continued for years. Further workshops ran in Mullaitivu in October and November 2024, coordinated by Navigate, one of the ventures here, with participants learning to identify misinformation and check what they are being told.
