DreamShot MakerFaire 2025 ran across four days in late February and was the largest single event of the year here.
It opened with a panel on building a support system for education, innovation and entrepreneurship, with hackathons already running alongside it. Day two brought a music hackathon, a leadership workshop, a film screening and a film-to-business masterclass. Day three mixed scriptwriting and artificial-intelligence workshops with Sufi and Carnatic music, Koothu dance and 3D printing, plus an exhibition and a documentary screening by the media venture. Day four closed with a documentary film strand.
Two things inside it are worth naming separately. The TrackMaster Challenge asked entrants from across Sri Lanka to build an autonomous line-following car. The DreamShot AI Hackathon ran as a hybrid event over four days, with accommodation and meals provided and prize money for the strongest solutions.
