Around the same period a run of individual maker projects was being filmed and published weekly, among them a child-safety automatic door for school stairs, an early flood-warning system, an energy-saving library lighting system, and a model space station with temperature and sunlight detection.

They are recorded as projects, not as innovations. Most stay learning artifacts rather than becoming solutions somebody depends on, and the two are kept apart here.
